First Real Day in London

I made it through my first real day in London. Not so bad for someone whose first thought was that she would get lost in the city. I am really bad with directions. I got up about 8:30 after not getting much sleep. The hostel is over a pub and I think they were open until 2:00 am. There is a main road outside my room and cars were driving by constantly. I can’t help it if I am such a light sleeper. Anyway, I headed over to St. Christopher’s Village which is about a block from the Inn to use the net and check my email. I sent a quick note off to mom and will need to email everyone else sometime this week. Around 10:00, I called Noujan’s sister, Maryam, but she was still asleep. Then I finally got in touch with Chris who I met on the net and we decided to meet in front of Buckingham Palace. I know my friends, Kathy and Lilli, would be happy that I am meeting Chris in a crowded place. Chris was a really nice guy. We ended up walking towards Trafalgar Square and then walking through the National Gallery. I am not one of those people who loves any type of museum but the art in the Gallery was very impressive. Then, we walked over to a cafe and talked for a little while before he had to leave to meet his cousin.

After leaving Chris, I walked around for a little while before heading back to the room. I was in the room for about 1 ½ hours before someone finally showed up. I didn’t realize this was a co-ed room, but it is. Fred was the first person to show up in the room and he is from Argentina. We talked for a little while and I suggested he could go sightseeing with me tomorrow if he wanted.  Who knows, I might have someone to hang out with tomorrow. About 9:30 pm, someone knocked on my door. It was Kevin, someone else I met on the net, who was going to be in London at the same time I was going to be here. What a freak! I had suggested to him that we could hang out tomorrow if he wanted and his answer was no. He said he only wanted to meet me and see if I was real. Who else would be chatting with him online or emailing him if they weren’t real.
