Follow Up Interview: Irene From Tuscany on a Budget

1) 2013 Year in Review for Tuscany on a Budget: What You May Have Liked and Didn’t Like

Last year I have decided to open a new trade mark ” Italy on a Budget tours” with the idea to offer more tours in other great locations in Italy. Last summer we have covered other destinations; The Amalfi coast with a 4 day trip departing from Rome to Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri Island, Positano, Amalfi and Naples and a day trip to the “Cinque Terre”, the 5 villages located on the Ligurian coast. These 2 products have been succesfull because for the first time we have offered a day trip to Cinque Terre departing from Florence by train to allow the travellers with a already Eurorail pass to save more money on the excursion. On the other hand the 4 day trip to the Amalfi coast have been a great option for those travellers looking for something more authentic, with a combination of information from a local guide and enough time to explore the coast and its beautiful pearls on their own.

Next year we are planning to create some walking tours in Rome and if everthing goes well, offer Sicily in 2015.

In Tuscany the wine tours have been super popular and we are very happy of the many reviews left on tripadvisor from our travellers. We have opened a new office in via nazionale 149R right 10 minutes walk from the main train station for a better exposure.

Part B of 2013 Review: If You Could Have a Do-Over for the Year then What Would it Be and Why?

The only thing we need now is a better exposure on the social media. We need promotional video for our tours and blogs on our itinerarys. We have not enough experience in that and we look for people with great ideas that could help us. We are not too strong from the marketing point of view and this is something that we need to improve. The tours are great, we have great feedback, the guides are well trained but now we only need to find the right way to promote.

2) What to Expect from Tuscany on a Budget in 2014

We would like to be more involved with American students studing abroad. In 2014 we are going to have brand new vehicles with great colours and branding.
