Sightseeing on My Own in Paris

Today I pretty much hung out by myself. I was going to head to the store down the road from the hotel to get something to eat and bring it back to the room. As I was leaving the hotel, I got stopped by a frenchman who wanted me to be his girlfriend. I said I had a boyfriend. He still wouldn’t leave me alone. He ended up giving me his email address which I threw away as soon as I made it back into the hotel. Again I tried to leave the hotel so I could take the metro to Notre Dame Cathedral. Again I was stopped by another frenchman. This time, I said I was married. This one gave me his phone # which I threw away later. I am starting to think most frenchmen are way too aggressive.

I finally made it to Notre Dame Cathedral and walked around inside since it was free. Also had my first chocolate crepe which was really good! Ended up heading back to the hotel to read. Thought I was going to have a nice quiet night since I needed to get up early in the morning to catch the bus from Paris to Munich.

Tracy showed up about 10:30 pm and said she met a couple of frenchmen on her way back to the hotel. They wanted to know if she had a friend to bring along since they were going for drinks. I wish I had stayed at the hotel. The guy who was speaking to me spoke very little english and he kept asking me if I wanted to get married. I kept telling him no. We left the cafe around 12:30 am and get into their car so they can drive us back to the hotel. While we are in the car, the guy kept trying to kiss me. I kept pushing him away and was so glad when we made it back to the hotel in one piece.
