Summer Breeze Half Marathon (In a Week)

It’s almost here ……

The Summer Breeze Half Marathon is on August 4th. A week from tomorrow and I will finally be able to say I completed my first half marathon. Not sure I ever want to do a full marathon because that is over 26 miles. But it’s going to feel so good to say I finished a half marathon. I am not even looking at trying to finish it in x amount of hours. That isn’t even what this is about. It isn’t about getting the best time or finishing first. It is all about finishing. Finishing something I have started. Finishing something I have worked towards for weeks.

So when I make it to the end of the road. The end of the finish line. The last leg of the half marathon. The 13.11 miles. It is going to feel so good. To finish something of this magnitude. Even though I have only been gradually working my miles up to 13 miles before Summer Breeze. Have gotten up to 10 miles in one walk. I think I have been working on this since I started losing weight a few years ago. At that time, I had started walking less then a mile a day and now look at me. Walking a half marathon. Never in a million years did I ever think this would be me but it is. And it feels so great!!

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything you set your mind to because you can accomplish anything in this world if it is something you want bad enough. Like this marathon for instance. Or when I backpacked through Europe for three months years ago. I didn’t let my friend backing out of the trip stop me from going. I wanted to see more of the world so that is what I did. Saw more of the world because it is something I set my mind to and I made it happen. You can too!! If you want to see more of the world then do what you can to make that happen. If you want to run or walk a half marathon or even a full  marathon then train for it and make it happen. You can do it!! Just like I am!
